Barbering requires you to be on your feet the majority of the time. Proper support is essential to avoid pain and future discomfort and it all starts with the appropriate footwear and insoles. Having flat feet like myself requires additional support since there is no arch to distribute the effects of body weight and gravity. Improper footwear is severely damaging for barbers. Personally my right foot fractured in 3 places and left foot suffers from bone loss which is very painful. Pain which would have been avoided had I made inquiries earlier in to proper foot ware.
